On Sunday 9 February 2014, the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights organized a workshop entitled: “Rights of Palestinian Child”, held at Al Mezan’s office in Rafah.
The workshop targeted school parliament students of UNRWA Rafah Primary School for Boys “C”.
The school director Mr.
Hasan Al Qadi welcomed Al Mezan’s lawyer Yihya Mhareb and thanked Al Mezan for its effort to foster a culture of human rights in general and child rights in particular.
Human rights teacher, Mr.
Ahmed Abu Zaid, thanked Al Mezan for its cooperation.
Mr.
Mhareb welcomed the students and presented a brief summary of Al Mezan’s work and activities.
He then talked about types of violence against children, reasons behind it, how to deal with it, violence against children under Palestinian Child Law No 7 of 2004, Amended Palestinian Basic Law and how to protect children from violence.
The workshop is part of Al Mezan’s activity with UNRWA to enhance and respect human rights and children rights.
