On Wednesday 6 March 2013, the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights organized an educational workshop entitled “A Legal Perspective on School Violence”, held at the library of Tal As-Sultan preparatory school for girls in Rafah.
The workshop targeted school teachers of Tal As-Sultan School.
Mrs.
Intisar Al Habbash, the school director, attended the workshop and thanked Al Mezan for its efforts to foster a culture of human rights in general and child rights in particular.
Mr.
Muhareb welcomed the 45 teachers who attended the workshop and presented a brief summary of Al Mezan’s work and activities.
He then talked about types of violence against children, reasons behind it, how to deal with it, violence against children under Palestinian Child Law No 7 of 2004, and how to protect children from violence.
The workshop is part of Al Mezan’s activity with UNRWA to enhance and respect human rights and children rights.
