At about 02:00 Monday 4/2/2002 morning, the Israeli forces shelled Abu al-Khair industrial area east of Jabalia with two ground-to-ground missiles and two helicopter missiles.
They targeted a factory for painting and covering metals, owned by Hasan Numan Basala, 40- years – old, from Jabalia and destroyed it totally.
Two nearby factories were destroyed, as well.
One of them is a textiles factory owned by Samy Dadar, 30 – years – old from Gaza City.
And ash – shawwa furniture factory.
The latter factory was burnt due to the shelling.
People could not put the fire down till 10:00.
Most of the furniture, wood and raw materials were burnt.
Besides, many houses were damaged by the shelling.
The Center’s fieldworkers visited the houses of Samir Muhammad Ali al-Mughrabi, Subhi Sadiq Yusif ash–Shaikh, Sabri Ahmad Jibril an–Najjar, Ayman Abdul–Rahim Hamada, Muhamad Yihia Abu Rabi’, Mustafa Hasan Ajjur, and Ali Abu al-Fahim.
At about 7:00am Monday the Israeli tanks entered a kilometer in the PA area of ash-Shaikh Ijlin, south of Gaza City.
Many plants and trees possessed by Palestinians were damaged.
The Center collected information about Najiya, Fathiya and Mahmud Shamalakh and Muhammad Abdul-Rahman Badawi, whose land was damaged.
On Saturday 2/2/2002 Israeli tanks entered the eastern part of Khan Yunis in Qisan an-Najar area under helicopters cover.
They broke into and searched many houses in the area.

Al Mezan Center for Human Rights is highly concerned with the Israeli continuous attacks on Palestinian civil premises – commercial establishments, residences and cultivated land causing severe damage to them.
The center condemns these crimes and calls the international community to:
Stop the state of silence towards the Israeli crimes and fulfill its moral and legal obligations towards Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian Territories.
Provide urgent international protection for Palestinian civilians and their property in these territories.
