The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued its attacks on Palestinian fishermen and rubble collectors in Gaza.
IOF opened fire at fishing boats, injuring one fisherman and causing damage to fishing boats and equipment in Gaza coast.
IOF also opened fire at Palestinian civilians who were collecting and removing rubble from destroyed buildings near the border between Gaza and Israel.
Moreover, IOF launched an aerial attack on a house in Jabalia town, north of the Gaza Strip.
Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights condemns these attacks on Palestinian civilians and calls for international protection for them.

9:30am on Thursday 25 March 2010, IOF naval vessels that patrol Gaza sea opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats which were north to Al-Waha resort, west of Beit Lahyia town in the North-Gaza district.
As a result, Hazem Ahmed Jom'a Al Qur’aan, 27, was injured in the head by the shrapnel of a bullet.
According to medical sources at Kamal Odwan Hospital, his injuries are critical.
He was referred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, fisherman Jamil Hassan Al-Aqraa’ stated that ‘as Palestinian fishing boats moved in the sea, and only after moving for 70 meters, Israeli boats opened fire at them directly, causing injury to my relative, Hazem, and damage to his boat (hasaka) severly’.

8am on Thursday 25 March 2010, IOF opened fire sporadically from the vicinity of Sofa crossing, in northeast of Khan Younis town at Palestinians who were collecting and removing the rubble of destroyed structures.
As a result, Naji Sulaiman Al-Abed Abu Reeda, 35, was injured in the right thigh.
He was admitted to the Gaza European Hospital in the town, medical sources informed Al Mezan that his injury described as moderate.
These workers were about 500 meters from the border fence between Gaza and Israel.
They were removing rubble from destroyed buildings in the area.
They workers collect rubble to sell it to brick factories which recycle it into bricks, or to people who need to use it for construction.
This is the only source of materials needed for making bricks and concrete for construction that is available in the Gaza Strip, which suffers from an acute shortage of construction materials due the Israeli siege.

7am on Wednesday 24 March 2010, Israeli troops moved into the Gaza Strip under heavy fire to the northwest of Beit Lahiya town in North-Gaza district.
The force rounded and arrested five Palestinians who were removing rubble of destroyed buildings in the area, and took them inside Israel.
Al Mezan identified three names of the detainees as follows:
· Mahmoud Mohammed Mahmoud Ma’rouf, 18;
· Shadi Amaar Ma’rouf,18; and
· Mustafa Ghanim, 43.
In a separate attack, at approximately 1am on Wednesday 24 March 2010, an Israeli helicopter gunship fired two missiles on the garden of the house of Mustafa Khalil Mustafa.
The house is located in Riyadh As-Saliheen neighborhood, east of Jablia refugee camp in North-Gaza District.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
This attack caused damage to the targeted house and two other adjacent houses.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, one of the missiles hit a thick water pipe and the second missile hit a small store near the water pipe.
Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights reiterates its strong condemnations to the continued and systematic attacks by IOF against the Palestinian civilians, particularly fishermen, farmers and rubble removers who work near the border.
Al Mezan also condemns the Israeli attempts to enforce a security 'buffer zone' inside the Gaza Strip.
Al Mezan Centre also reiterates its calls on the international community to take prompt and effective actions to provide protection for Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
