Al Mezan Center for Human Rights condemns the open war launched by the IOF on the Gaza Strip and the unjustifiable ongoing offensive on civilians and property.
It confirms that such actions violate international law, most notably the Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, which considers random shelling, unjustifiable killing, and targeting of civil facilities as war crimes and is subject to international criminal prosecution.
Thus, Al Mezan calls upon the International Community, in particular the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to immediately intervene to provide protection to Palestinian civilians and properties in the OPT and uphold international law, most notably the Fourth Geneva Convention.
