The intensification of state of security threatens internal safety and stability within Palestinian society.
On May 16th and 17th a number of internal incidents took place, including the killing, shooting and harassment of employees and damage to public facilities.
Two citizens were killed, 5 injured and private and public properties were damaged.
According to Al Mezan investigations, on May 16th at approximately 1am, Jomaa Abu Osheiba, 29, resident of Tel Zaatar, was found murdered near Hamouda gas station in east of Jabalia Camp.
Forensic scientists at Al Shifa hospital reported that Jomaa's body was beaten to death, causing severe internal hemorrhage in the pelvis and feet.

30am on the same day, armed persons blew two cars up owned by Taher Khweitar, 34, in front of his house in Al Zaitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, which provoked armed clashes between Khweitar and the armed group.
No casualties were reported.
Further at approximately 2.
30pm, an armed group broke into Jawwal Telecommunications Company in Gaza City; there was intense gunfire from the group, who also destroyed equipment and attacked employees.

30pm on the same day, a number of armed persons broke into a barbershop owned by Mohammad Msbeh located near the Great Mosque in the main street; the armed group opened fire at the barbershop and escaped after injuring four citizens: Mohammad Msbeh, 28, shot in the back and legs remains in critical condition, Yousef Abu Yousef, 30, shot in the chest, Ahamd Siyam Abu Ahmad, 26, wounded in the body, and Mohammad Abu Sobha,17, injured in the legs.
On May 17th at approximately 3.
15am, Bilal Qusiya, 25, died after being shot in the back during a clash with an armed group in front of Jabalia police station; Rami Abu Skhela, 31, was injured in the leg and shoulder.
Further, a small bomb exploded near the house of Rajab Abu Safia located in Alami Project in Jabalia Camp - the front door of his house was partially damaged, and the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights expresses regret over the growing number of victims due to the state of insecurity; it calls upon both the PNA to immediately take security procedures to provide protection to citizens and properties and the Palestinian Cabinet to take serious and urgent actions to impose the law and secure stability in the OPT, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
