Talal Abu Safiya was killed in the early morning hours today.
This brings the number of Palestinians killed in such incidents to ten since the beginning of July 2007; two of whom died from wounds they sustained in June.

According to Al Mezan's field investigations, at approximately 5.
50am today, four unknown gunmen opened fire at 38-year-old Talal Al Abed Abu Safiya near his house in the At Twam neighborhood in north Gaza.
The victim drove some 100 meters from his house when the gunmen blocked the car's way and shot him and fled from the scene.
No information about the identify of the perpetrators or the motivations behind the incident is available.
Al Mezan condemns the killing of Abu Safiya.
The Center is gravely concerned by the escalation of similar acts of killings in the Gaza Strip recently.
The Center calls for a prompt and effective investigation into this crime, and other acts of murder.
The perpetrators must be pursued and brought to justice as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, information about the progress of the investigations into all such crimes should be made public and subject to scrutiny and monitoring.
