Short Link:
Gaza, 30 October 2025 — Al Mezan strongly condemns Israel’s latest escalation of its genocide in Gaza, as dozens of homes and tents were targeted, killing more than one hundred Palestinians. Israel's recent attacks are in flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement reached earlier this month and are causing intensified fear and panic amongst Palestinians in Gaza.
Al Mezan stresses that Israel has failed to comply with most of the provisions in the recent ceasefire agreement. Israel is continuing to target Palestinians, obstruct the entry of humanitarian aid, and refuses to lift the crippling blockade of Gaza and open border crossings, further exacerbating the already catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 104 Palestinians were killed and 253 injured by Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on the evening of 28 October 2025 and into the early morning of 29 October. Since the most recent ceasefire agreement entered into force on 10 October 2025, Israel has killed 211 Palestinians and wounded 597 others.
Israeli airstrikes and intensive bombardment targeted several areas across Gaza, including the courtyard of Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City; the Al-Banna family home in Al-Sabra neighborhood; an apartment near the Abdul Aal intersection; the Salem family home in Al-Shati Camp; the Abu Hana family home on Al-Yarmouk Street; a house near the Ministry of Finance building in Tal Al-Hawa; a car in central Khan Younis City; an apartment in Al-Amal neighborhood; several tents sheltering displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis; a school in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza; the Abu Sharar family home in Al-Bureij Camp; the Abu Dalal family home in Al-Nuseirat Camp; and a tent in Deir Al-Balah. Israel's attacks killed 30 Palestinians in Gaza City, three in North Gaza, 43 in Central Gaza, and 28 in the South.
M.F., a resident of Al-Amal neighborhood in Khan Younis, told Al Mezan:
“I live in a tent in Al-Amal neighborhood, across from my destroyed home. At around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, while we were sitting inside the tent, we suddenly heard a powerful explosion that shook the entire area. We rushed outside to see what had happened and found that a house belonging to the Al-Qedra family had been bombed without any prior warning. Together with some neighbors, I went into the house to help those inside. We found several martyrs and wounded people—most of them women and children. We began retrieving the bodies and assisting the injured. The renewed bombing and the continuous sounds of explosions everywhere afterward has filled us with fear and panic."
Al Mezan stresses that the ICJ's recent Advisory Opinion stated Israel's obligation as an occupying power to ensure an adequate supply of food, water, fuel, and medical supplies for Palestinians and immediately stop obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. Israel must respect this Advisory Opinion and uphold its commitment to allow the entry of 600 trucks of humanitarian aid into Gaza per day, which Israel agreed to in the most recent ceasefire agreement.
Although more aid is entering Gaza since the ceasefire agreement, which Israel has already violated by continuing its attacks on Palestinians in Gaza, the number of trucks entering Gaza is far below the amount of humanitarian aid required to alleviate the ongoing famine and humanitarian crisis caused by Israel's devastating blockade of food, medical supplies, and fuel. Without an urgent and continuous supply of humanitarian aid, the famine in Gaza will only become worse, and Gaza's healthcare system will be pushed further into a state of total collapse.
Al Mezan strongly condemns Israel’s continued attacks on Gaza in flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement and international humanitarian law. Israel's ongoing attacks and continued obstruction of humanitarian aid are egregious violations of its international obligations and demonstrate a clear intention of continuing the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Al Mezan stresses that these actions demand a decisive response from the international community—particularly from the guarantor states of the ceasefire—to immediately halt Israel’s violations of international law, including the genocide, and ensure full accountability of those responsible for these international crimes.
Al Mezan further reaffirms its full support for the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, which confirmed Israel's effective control over Gaza, affirming Israel's role as an occupying power with an obligation to guarantee adequate supply in Gaza and refrain from obstructing humanitarian relief efforts. In light of this, Al Mezan calls on the international community to take urgent and concrete measures to ensure the implementation of the Court’s decision, particularly allowing the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid by UN-led agencies such as UNRWA.
