At 5:30pm on 19 April 2018, the tourism intelligence unit of the Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip cancelled an honoring ceremony organized by the Bar Association at Al Shalehat Resort in western Gaza city. According to field monitoring, the ceremony was sponsored by Fatah to honor members the Bar Association’s “Yaser Arafat Bloc”. Intelligence members arrived to the Resort and ordered the cancelation of the ceremony and the leave of attendees, allegedly due to failing to receive the Ministry’s permission. Intelligence members also took to detention Ayman Al Far, 46, Khaled Al Jaabari, 47, and Ahed Musabeh, 34.
