At 5:45pm on Thursday, 12 April 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Khan Younis opened fire and launched tear-gas grenades at youths assembling around Al Awda camp, organized as part of the “Great Return March” demonstrations, in the east of Khuzaa town in eastern Khan Younis. Abdallah Al Shahri, 28, was wounded by a live bullet in the chest, and he was taken to the European Gaza hospital to receive the necessary treatment for his injury, which was described by doctors as critical. At 7:15pm on the same day, Al Shahri died as a result of his wound.
