Two Civilian and One Child Protesters Injured in Eastern Burij

At 3:00pm on Friday, 9 March 2018,  Israeli forces located near the southeastern borders of Burij refugee camp opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of protesters who joined a demonstration in the east of the Burij. The demonstration was held as part of the “Capital Intifada” in protest of the latest U.S. recognition to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Palestinian protesters set tires on fire and threw stones at Israeli forces, which responded with fire and tear-gas. Two protesters were injured, and they were ambulanced by the Palestinian Red Crescent to Shuhada Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah. Clashes continued until 6:30p.m on the same day.
