Short Link:
At 2:00pm on Friday, 9 March 2018, Israeli forces located around Nahal Oz site near the eastern borders of Shujayya in eastern Gaza opened fire at protesters joining a demonstration in the area. The demonstration was held in protest of the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Tens of children and young adults joined the demonstration. Israeli forces used live ammunition, rubber bullets, and tear-gas canisters to disperse protesters, one of whom suffered lightly from breathing difficulty due to inhaling tear-gas. Israeli shooting continued until 6pm of the same day.
