At 3:00pm on Thursday, 8 March 2018, Israeli forces located around Nahal Oz site near the eastern borders of Shujayya in eastern Gaza opened fire at protesters joining a demonstration in the area. The demonstration was held in protest of the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. A number of young adults joined the demonstration. Israeli forces opened fire and tear-gas canisters to disperse protesters. Israeli shooting continued until 6pm of the same day, but no injuries were reported.
