2 March 2018
Short Link:
At 2:00pm on Friday, 2 March 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Khan Younis opened fire and tear-gassed tens of protesters joining a demonstration. A few tens of meters away from the eastern borders of Khuzaa, Abasan Al Kabeera, and Abasan Al Jadida, the demonstration was held in protest of the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Protesters set tires on fire and threw stones at Israeli forces, and Israeli soldiers opened fire and launched tear-gas canisters at protesters. Eight protesters, five of them children, were injured, and they were taken to the European Gaza Hospital, where their injuries were reported as moderate. Many other protesters were affected by the tear gas and received the necessary medical care in the field.
