Short Link:
On 11 July 2017, Najib Fahid Abu Safia, 45, died in the Indonesia Hospital in North Gaza as he was kept waiting for an Israeli permit to leave to Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. Abu Safia suffered from stomach tumors, for the treatment of which he was issued a medical referral. Despite Abu Safia’s three applications, Israeli authorities kept them all “under security consideration” until his death. It is worth noting that Abu Safia had once previously been given a crossing permission to receive treatment.
