On Monday, 5 June 2017, Hasna Shehda Khader, 54, was announced dead in Al Rantisi Hospital in Gaza city. Khader had been suffering from spinal cord cancer, for treatment of which she sought going to Augusta Victoria Hospital and Al Najah Hospital. She made two applications to get an Israeli permit to cross to the West Bank, but she was given permission only once and received treatment at Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. Later, she made three more requests for permission, but each of these requests remained “under security consideration”  until her health deteriorated dramatically, leading to her death.
