Short Link:
On Tuesday, 23 May 2017, Ahmed Saed Jumaa, 46, was announced dead in Al Rantisi Hospital in Gaza city. Jumaa had been suffering from stomach cancer, with which he was diagnosed in June 2015. Through the Palestinian Ministry of Civil Affairs, he applied for an Israeli permit to cross through Erez to the Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. His application, however, remained “under security check”, a status he received through the three times he re-applied. Later, he was allowed a one-time pass and then a second. Finally, approval of his three following applications was delayed while his health kept deteriorating, until his death on Tuesday.
