At 8a.m. on Tuesday 26 December 2017, Abdulfattah Lutfi Alsbakhi, 66-year old resident of Al Nusairat refugee camp, lost his life to cancer. He had received some referral and received medical treatment outside Gaza; however, he could not continue his therapy due to Israeli eight months-long delay in his permit to cross through Erez. During this period of time, Abdufattah’s health deteriorated dramatically, and he died on 26 December 2017 in Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
