At approximately 6:00 pm on Friday 3 June 2016, Israeli gunboats opened fire randomly in the sea of Rafah city. As a result, Wafaa Ahmed Abed Al Karim Al Sha’er, 17, sustained a superficial bullet wound, and her sister Iman, 21, sustained injury from the same bullet at her leg. The two sisters were on a picnic with their family on the beach when they were injured. They were referred to Abu Youssif Al Najjar Hospital where their injuries were described as moderate.
