At approximately 6:00 AM on Thursday, 7 April 2016, Israeli Gunboats opened fire at a Palestinian fishing boat sailing at about eight nautical miles off the coast of Deir Al Balah. Raed Khamis Hassan Owda, 43, and Iyad Abed Issa Olwan, 35, were onboard. The Israeli rubber boats approached the fishing boat and the soldiers ordered the fishermen to take off their clothes and then took them to a military site. They were detained and interrogated for hours. At approximately 1:30 AM on Friday 8 April 2016, they were both released through Erez Crossing.
