At approximately 10:30 am on Monday 25 February 2013, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) informed the Palestinian Liaisons Office that it will close the crossing for one hour for breakfast.
However, the crossing was not opened as usual.
The IOF informed the Liaisons Office that the crossing is closed because a number of young men and children who were in solidarity demonstration with Palestinian detainees approached near point 5/5.
At approximately 2:00 pm on the same day, the IOF reopened the crossing.
At approximately 11:40 am on Tuesday 26 February 2013, the IOF closed the crossing for unknown reasons.
According to Israeli media sources, a Palestinian rocket was launched against Ashkelon and the IOF closed Erez.
