At approximately 7:08 pm on Saturday 23 February 2013, medical sources at Abu Youisf An-Najjar Hospital announced the death of Mohammed Khalil Rabee’, 16, due to an electric shock.
Rabee’, from Khan Younis, was working inside a tunnel under the Al Brazil neighborhood in the south of Rafah on the Gaza-Egypt border when he was electrified.
This raises the death toll to 237.
In addition, 20 Palestinians were killed inside tunnels as a result of Israeli aerial attacks.
13 of the 232 killed were children.
Since 2006, 599 persons were injured in separate incidents.
