At approximately 12:30 pm on Tuesday 13 November 2012, the Gaza’s police arrested seven participants in the weekly set-in organized by the General Union of Palestinian Women and other women organizations outside the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) in Gaza City.
The police arrested the participants when the event ended.
Al Mezan has identified some of the detainees as follows:
· Mahmoud Khalaf, a member of Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine;
· Khalid Abu Sharekh, member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine; and
· Nabeel Diyab, member of the local initiative to end Palestinian Local Initiative.
The police also confiscated badges of two field workers at Al Mezan Center for Human Rights and a field worker at Al Dammer Association for Human Rights.
