At approximately 9:30 am on Tuesday 26 October 2011, an explosion occurred in the town of Beit Hanoun, in the North Gaza district.
As a result, three children were injured and admitted to hospital.
The Al Mezan Center for Human Rights has identified them as follows:
· Mohanned Mahmoud Al Kafarna, 14, sustained shrapnel wounds in different parts of his body; medical sources at Beit Hanoun’s hospital described his injuries as moderate and transferred him to Kamal Odwan Hospital.
· Rewa’a Mahmoud Al Kafarna, 9.
She sustained light injures in her abdomen and chest.
· Belal Faraj Adbelhadi Al Kafarna, 11.
He sustained light injures in different parts of his body.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, Mohanned, accompanied by his sister and his cousin, had found an unknown device inside the Beit Hanoun cemetery.
The device exploded when Mohanned touched it.
