Short Link:
At approximately 5pm on Saturday 5 March 2011, neighbors of Jabalia Refugee Camp's park threw stones at a contractor and workers of a project to build a hospital over the park.
The dispute developed into a fight between the contractor's relatives and the residents.
As a result, the contractor's eldest son, Alaa Usama Ali Sarhan, 23, was injured.
Medical sources at Al Awda Hospital described his injuries as moderate.
The police arrived at the place and initiated an investigation into the incident and detained some people for questioning.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, the Gaza Government decided to build a hospital over the only park in Jabalia refugee camp despite the protests by the residents of that area.
Sarhan and Al Khateeb Company for Contracting won the project's bid and began implementing the project in February 2011.
