8:20pm on Thursday 10 June 2010, unknown persons kidnapped Mahmoud Basim Jamal Al Far, 2.
5, while he was sleeping in his family house.
The house is located west of Usama Bin Zayid School in Ebad Ar-Rahman neighborhood in Jabalia, in North Gaza District.
The family attempted to find the child, but was unsuccessful.
The family then informed the police which opened an investigation into the incident.

midnight on Saturday 12 June 2010, the police were informed about a dead body of a child in a farm that is located 100 meters away from Mahmoud's house.
The dead body was later identified to be Mahmoud.
According to police, the child's hands were tied behind his back by a plastic strap, his legs were also tied, and the child's mouth was duct taped.
The stinking smell of the body led the police to find him.
Police opened an investigation into the incident, but the perpetrators and reasons behind the incident were still unknown as this news was being published.
According to the child's family, the forensic doctor informed them that the child was suffocated to death 36 hours beforehand.
