On 24/5/2007, at app. 9:30, armed men opened fire at a car as it was moving along the coastal road, in eastern Deir Al Balah City. Two of the drivers were injured; Hamid Ibrahim Husein Nasir, 55, and his son Omar Hamid Ibrahim, 30. The two were sent to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah, and were then transferred to Al Shifa Hospital due to their critical injuries. The father died later of his injuries.
