30pm on 25 October 2007, unknown gunmen kidnapped Ya'aqub Abu Eita, a teacher in an UNRWA school in Al Shaboura neighborhood in Rafah.
Abu Eita was kidnapped before the eyes of his friends and students.
The school staff immediately contacted the police which went after the kidnappers.
The police exchanged fire with the kidnappers close to Miraj junction in Khan Younis.
The kidnappers' jeep turned upside down as it deviated from its way.
One of the kidnappers was injured while the others fled.
Abu Eita fortunately was not harmed.
