At approximately 3:40pm, on 5/2/2008, the IOF used a ground-to-ground missile to shell a police station in Bany Suheyla area, adjacent to Al Awda School on the main road.
As a result, seven police officers were killed.
They arrived at Nasser Hospital, their bodies blown into pieces.
The victims were identified as:
22-year-old Ahmed Ismail Mesbeh;
21-year-old Osama Ali Abu Sa'ada;
20-year-old Muhammad Mousa Abu Sa'ada;
25-year-old Mutaz Abdel Razek Abu Shahla;
31-year-old Abdel Nasser Ibrahim Abu Nasr;
22-year-old Wafi Hamad Abu Yusuf; and,
22-year-old Rafat Ahmed Qudeh.
The incident also resulted in the injury of another police officer, 21-year-old Mohammed Zaki Al Derdesi.
He was reported to have sustained moderate injury.
