At approximately 2:20am on 3 March 2008, IOF warplanes fired one missile at a base belonging to the naval police of the deposed government, located on a coastal road near Wadi Gaza Bridge in An Nuseirat refugee camp.
Twenty minutes later, IOF warplanes returned and launched two missiles.
One of them failed to explode.
The shelling killed one policeman, 34-year-old Darwish Mekdad, and injured another, 24-year-old Walid Tawfiq Abu Yousef.
He was transferred to Al Aqsa Hospital, and later to Al Shifa Hospital.
He was reported to have sustained serious injury.
