11am, on 24 March 2008, the IOF, stationed at a military base northeast of Khan Younis, opened fire towards agriculture land and civilian homes in eastern Al Qarara village.
As a result, farmer 55-year-old Youssef Mohammed Abu Zaher was injured by a live bullet to his pelvis.
He was near his home, which is about 500m from the border.
He remained bleeding for more than two hours because ambulances were unable to reach him due to intensive fire in the area and the difficulty for transportation.
Abu Zaher died as a result.

1:10pm, medics were able to transfer his body to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
