IOF Enters Al Shouka Village and Bulldozes Vast Areas of Land

2:30am, on 17/5/2008, ten IOF military vehicles under drone cover and amid intensive fire entered 2.
5 kilometers into Al Shouka village west of the Rafah Crossing.

The forces raided a number of houses and arrested 17 citizens.
They were taken to a military base near the Kerem Shalom Crossing.

At app, 9:30am, the IOF withdrew after bulldozing 17,600 square meters of agricultural land, including the complete destruction of 40,000 square meters of greenhouses and 5,600 square meters of poultry farms.
On this land were seven farms cultivated with vegetables and wheat, and 20,000 chickens, which were killed.

The IOF released 14 detainees at app.
3am the following day.
Three detainees remain under detention in an unknown location.
They are identified as: 28-year-old Ahmed Al Qara; 26- year-old Fawaz Abu Shalof; and, 31-year-old Ibrahim Abu Shalof.
