Short Link:
At approximately 7:50pm on Thursday, 27 January 2022, medical sources at Al-Aqsa Hospital, in the Middle Area district, announced that they had received the body of 14-year-old Osama Arafat al-Sirsik, a resident of the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, eastern Gaza City. According to forensics, the cause of death was traumatic asphyxia.
According to the testimony of the child’s father, his son was helping him collect scrap metal from the landfill in the Johr al-Dik area, southeast Gaza City, when he lost him. After hours of searching, the child was then found killed inside the landfill.
Al Mezan calls on the Public Prosecution to immediately open an investigation into the incident and to release its findings to the public.
