Short Link:
The Israeli occupation forces have increased their attacks since the world’s attention is focused on the attacks in the United States.
The last few days have witnessed attacks which aim at increasing the Palestinian losses of people and property.
After the attacks in Jinin and Jericho the Israeli forces have entered Bait Hanun and Khan Yunis.
The day before yesterday, 14 September, at 7.
30am Israeli forces entered one kilometer into Bait Hanun, north of the Gaza Strip and shelled the area intensively.
Four Palestinians were injured in the area which is controlled by the PA.
One of the injured is in a critical condition.
Two houses were totally destroyed and another two partially.
Another twelve houses were damaged by the shelling.
20 dunams planted with citrus fruit trees were bulldozed and five dunams planted with sugarcane were burnt.
The Israeli tanks and bulldozers destroyed a fence surrounding the sewage pump, a car and damaged the major electricity transformer.
As a result there is now no electricity in the whole north Gaza area.
Another Israeli attack on Khan Yunis resulted in the death of Amar Khalaf as a result of being hit by a bullet in the head and of Muhammad ad-Dajani who received several bullets in the neck and chest.
They are both eighteen years old.
The Israeli army opened fire on a number of young Palestinians, who were demonstrating near al-Muntar Crossing, east of Gaza City.
The shooting left Ramsi Hasuna, eighteen years old, dead and another three persons wounded.
One of them is critically.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights considers these new escalations very serious.
Al Mezan Center emphasizes that there is a clear link between the escalation and the fact that the international community is busy with the events in the United States.
The center fears the possibility that Israel will increase their crimes against Palestinian civilians and demands that the international community perform their legal and moral obligations towards the Palestinian civilians and provide protection for them.
The center also urges the international community not to ignore the Israeli acts in the occupied territories under any circumstances.
