Five killed in one day in Gaza; Al Mezan calls for prompt investigations in the crimes of murder

Five Palestinian citizens have been killed in internal violence during the past 24 hours.
Among them is a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, three men who died in armed clashes, and one man who was assassinated by a group of masked men.
According to Al Mezan's investigations, at approximately7.
30pm on 1 August 2007, armed clashes broke out between the Hamas' Executive Force (EF) and a family in Al Shijai'ya neighborhood after members of the family opened celebratory fire in the air in a wedding.
22 year-old Hazim Kamel Abu El Khair, who is a member of EF, was killed in these clashes.
At Approximately 2am on Thursday 2 August 2007, the clashes recommenced when a group of EF rounded members of the Islamic Jihad in Al Ribat mosque in Al Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza city.
An Ismalic Jihad member, 20-year-old Nidal El Daya, was killed and two others were injured.
In the same context, at approximately 2.
15am today armed gunmen opened fire at a civilian car near the same Al Ribat mosque killing 35-year-old Salah Mohammed El Amoudi.
The victim is known to be affiliated with Fatah movement.
Eight citizens were also inured in these clashes.
Those are: 15-year-old Walid Khader Al Ar'eer, 18-year-old Ahmed Ahmed Daher, 36-year-old Saber Abdul-Ltif Abu Assi, 35-year-old Salah Mahmoud Siyam, 25-year-old Rafiq Muhammad Jundiya, 22-year-old Ubaida Omar El Ghola, 23-year-old Ayman Abu Dali, and 22-year-old Abdullah Ayyad.
At approximately 5.
40pm Wednesday 1 August 2007, child girl Mai Musbah Harbi Shalha, died from bullets fired by mistake from a weapon in Jabalia.
She was wounded from a live bullet in the head while playing at home in Al Sekka neighborhood, east of Jabalia Refugee Camp.
She was admitted at Al Awda hospital in Beit Lahia with critical wounds.
At approximately 5.
40pm Mai died of her wounds at Al Shifa hospital in Gaza city.
The investigations have not yet led to the person who fired the bullet.

50am on the same day, Talal Abu Saffiya was killed by four masked gunmen near his house in Jabalia.
While Al Mezan Center for Human Rights extends its condolences to the victims' families, it calls for a prompt investigation in all the crimes of murder, which have seriously increased in the Gaza Strip recently.
All those who prove to be involved in ordering and/or perpetrating these crimes must be brought to Justice.
The rule of law must not be compromised for Gaza to see adequate respect and protection of the human rights of its population.
