At 2pm on Friday, 11 May 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of North Gaza opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at hundreds of Palestinians joining the Great Return March demonstration in east Jabalia refugee camp. 65 demonstrators were injured, including 13 children and four women. Doctors at the Indonesia Hospital said the injuries ranged from moderate to serious—46 of them caused by live fire, 14 by tear gas canisters, and the others by inhalation of used tear gas. Other demonstrators who were affected by inhalation of tear gas received the necessary treatment by medical teams based in the field. Israeli shooting continued until the evening of the same day.
