IOF Opens Fire at Palestinian Protestors East of Jabaliya; Six People Injured

 At approximately 1:4 0pm on Friday, 29 January 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canister at tens of young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The clashes between the Israeli occupation forces and the young men took place at east of the Islamic cemetery east of Jabaliya in North Gaza district. Clashes between the Israeli soldiers and Palestinian protestors continued until 5:00 pm on the same day. As a result, six people were injured, including a child.  Three of the victims sustained live bullet wounds. Al Mezan identified their names as follows:

• Mahmoud Jehad Qasem Dakka, 27, resident of Jabaliya, sustained a bullet wound in his right leg; medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital described his injury as moderate (the bullet caused a fracture in the bones of the leg and it needed a surgery);
• Khaled Abdelkarim Mohammed Musa, 21, sustained a bullet wound in his right leg;
• Marwan Ali Ramadan Eshtewi, 30, sustained a bullet wound in his left leg;
• Subhi Ibrahim Subhi Jum’a, 24;
• Hamza Mousa Khalil Mhani, 28; and
• Berjas Ashraf Barjas Sa’d, 16, residents of Gaza.

All sustained rubber-coated bullet wounds in different parts of their bodies. Medical sources at Al Shifa Hospital described their injury as minor.
