IOF Opens Fire at a Group of Palestinian Fishermen in Beit Lahiya Coast; One Killed and Three Injured

At approximately 8:30 am on Wednesday, 13 January 2015,  Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at a group of  Palestinian fishermen and young men at the coast west of Al Siayfa area north west Beit Lahiya in North Gaza districty. As a result, Mousa Asa’ad Salman Abu Zu’aiter, 31, resident of Jabaliya, was killed and three others were injured including the fisherman Abdul Hafiz Asa’ad Al Soltan, 28, resident of As-Salateen neighborhood west of Beit Lahiya, he sustained shrapnel wounds in different parts of his body. Medical sources at  the Indonesian Hospital described his injury as moderate and the injury of the others were described as serious. A boat was mooring at  the beach was burnt as a result of the attack. According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the incident took place while fishermen were collecting their nets from the beach, about 600 meters away from the northern borders. The source of the shooting is unidentified.
