Gaza’s Internal Security Apparatus Summons Former Vice President of Security Forces

Internal Security Apparatus Detains Eight Fatah Members in North Gaza District On Friday 9 August 2013, internal security apparatus detained eight Fatah members in North Gaza district.
Al Mezan has identified them as follows: Abdel Aziz Hasan Al Maqadma, 46; Mahmoud Abed ‘Awad, 44; Waleed Ahmed Sbeeh, 42; Raed Abdel Haleem Abu Hussein, 41; Abdel Jawwad Tawfeq Ziyada, 42; Issa Abdel Hai Darwesh, 35; Jalil Abdel Hadi Ishtewi, 47; and Maher Ali Al Shinbari, 45.
In the evening hours on Saturday, the apparatus released them and kept Al Maqadma in detention.
On 12 August 2013, Al Maqadma was referred to Ansar prison in Gaza city.
Sbeeh, Abu Hussein, Darwesh, and Al Shinbari were handed other summonses to present themselves at the apparatus office on Monday 12 August 2013.
Ziyada, Ishtewi, and ‘Awad were handed other summonses to present themselves on Tuesday 13 August 2013.
They were detained for two hours and released on the same day but after having other summonses on Thursday 15 August 2013.
According to Al Mezan’s investigations, the reason behind their detention was political and related to their Fatah activity and distributing money for families of persons killed and injured.
