10 January 2012

At approximately 10:00 am on Tuesday 10 January 2012, the Internal Security Apparatus stationed at Rafah crossing banned two persons from travelling via the terminal.
Al Mezan has identified them as follows:   ·         Ibrahim Abdel Qader At-Tahrawi, 45; and ·         Ali Hussein At-Tahrawi, 41.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Ibrahim stated that at around 10:00 am on Tuesday 10 January 2012, he and his relative Ali At-Tahrawi arrived at Rafah crossing.
They handed their passports to the employee there and were seated in the waiting hall.
One of the Internal Security Apparatus members ordered Ibrahim to enter a room, where he was interrogated about the reasons for his travel and his political affiliation.
Ibrahim told the interrogator that he is affiliated with Fatah and that he wanted to travel to Egypt to receive medical treatment at Nasser Hospital.
The security officer told him that he is banned from traveling and handed him a summons to appear at the Apparatus office in Deir Al Balah on Sunday 15 January 2012.
Ali was likewise served with a summons.
