At approximately 2:30pm on Friday 20 May 2011, Gaza police arrested Ibrahim Mohammed Abu Sa'ada while he was on his way home after he had participated in a peaceful demonstration in relation with the ‘Return and Freedom Campaign’, which had been held near the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Abu Sa'ada said that he was detained at the Bani Suhaila police station until 9am on the next day, 21 May 2011.
He was interrogated about organizing the demonstration without a prior notice to the Ministry of Interior.
He was released after signing a declaration committing himself to ‘respect the law’.
