26 March 2011
At approximately 9am on Saturday 26 March 2011, internal security apparatus summoned four students of the Al Quds Open University to its office in Khan Younis.
Al Mezan identified the names of the students as follows:
· Mohammed Suliman Mousa, 33, the head of the University Students' Council;
· Mohammed Suliman Al Masri, 26, Coordinator of Fatah Youth at the University;
· Ibrahim Arafat, an alumni and an administrative member at the University; and
· Munzir Saleh Hamed, a student and Fatah activist.
They were detained at the apparatus office and interrogated for several hours.
They were beaten and blind folded.
In their affidavits to Al Mezan, some of the detainees said that they were interrogated about activities of the University Students' Council and about a press statement that the Council had issued about activities of the Popular Movement to end the Palestinian internal split.
At approximately 4:30pm on the same day, the apparatus released them, but only after issuing them new summonses on Tuesday 29 March 2011.
