Al Mezan Center Condemns Killing of Woman and Calls for Perpetrators to be Apprehended and Brought to Justice

At around 3.
00am today Monday 13 April 2009, the body of a 28-year-old woman from the western area of An-Nusairat Refugee Camp was taken to Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah town, according to Al Mezan field investigations.
Her body was transferred to the forensic pathologist at Shifa Hospital later this morning.
According to criminal investigation sources in Deir Al-Balah governorate, the victim was killed by asphyxiation with a water-soaked towel at around 11.
30pm on Sunday 12 April 2009.
She was killed in a field next to her home.
A police patrol noticed activity in the area and discovered the body of the victim.
She was taken to Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital, which transferred her to Shifa Hospital for an autopsy.
  Al Mezan Center condemns this crime and is gravely concerned about the escalation of incidents of killing women.
This is the third such killing in less than two months, all of which took place in Deir Al-Balah governorate (Middle Gaza).
  Al Mezan Center calls on the Public Prosecution to take all necessary steps to uncover the circumstances of this crime and to bring to justice all those who are proven to have been involved.
