At 4:40pm on Friday, 28 September 2018, Israeli forces used live ammunition, plastic-coated steel bullets, and tear gas canisters on Palestinians joining the Great Return March demonstrations in east Rafah district. 33 demonstrators were injured—of them eight by live fire, two by shrapnel, two by various wounds, one by a tear gas canister, and 13 suffered from breathing difficulties of tear gas. The casualties included seven children, including one who was shot with live fire and two who were wounded with shrapnel.
