At 9:30pm on Sunday, 22 September 2018, Israeli forces located to the east of the fence in Khuzaa town in east Khan Younis district opened fire at Palestinians joining the Great Return March demonstration in the eastern part of the town. Two Palestinians were injured: a 15-year-old child who was hit by shrapnel of live fire in the left foot, and the other a 25-year-old man shot with a live bullet in the lower parts of his body. Both casualties were taken to the European Gaza Hospital, where doctors said their wounds were moderate.
