At 9:45pm on Saturday, 22 September 2018, Israeli forces located to the east of the fence in Khuzaa town in east Khan Younis district opened fire at Palestinians joining the Great Return March demonstration in the eastern part of the town. One was an 18-year-old freelance journalist who was hit by shrapnel of live fire in both legs, and the other, 18, was shot with a live bullet in the left side of his body. The two casualties were taken to the European Gaza Hospital, where doctors said their wounds were moderate.
