Israeli Forces Open Fire at Fishermen and Detain Five in West Beit Lahia

At 8am on Sunday, 12 August 2018, Israeli naval forces opened fire at Palestinian fishermen and detained five while sailing off the coast of Al Waha in west Beit Lahia city in North Gaza district. Al Mezan’s documentation shows that Israeli warships circulated a boat carrying five fishermen and arrested them while two nautical miles away from the coast of Beit Lahia near the northern demarcation line. The detained fishermen were :Naser Baker, 55, Hasan Baker, 30, Yaser Baker, 27, Fadel Baker, 20, and Mubarak Baker, 16, who are all residents of Al Shati’ refugee camp in Gaza city. Israeli naval forces also confiscated the boat and its equipments.
