At 3:30pm on Monday, 2 July 2018, Israeli forces located on the security fence to the east of Rafah city opened fire at a group of Palestinians assembling in an empty land in southeast Al Shoka area in east Rafah city. A number of them were injured. After shooting, according to field monitoring, the Israeli forces moved into a distance of about 50 meters into the area and arrested three Palestinians, taking them to an unknown destination. A.N., 17-year old child who was injured in the left shoulder in the shooting, could escape, and he was taken to Abu Yousef Al Najar Hospital in Rafah, where doctors said his injury was moderate. Israeli media outlets reported that Israeli forces kept the three others: one of them dead and another injured.
