On 2 July 2018, doctors at Al Shifa Hospital announced the deaths of Ahmed Al-Areer, 23, and of Muath Hilles. On the next day, 3 July 2018, the doctors at Al Shifa announced the death of Abdulkarim Al-Areer, 19. The three were residents of Shujayya neighborhood in east Gaza city, and their deaths followed injuries they sustained in an explosion of fireworks factor that took place at 6:55pm on 30 June 2018.
