At 5pm on Monday, 30 April 2018, the Palestinian Civil Liaison office informed the family of Yousef Jaser Abu Jazar of his death. Abu Jazar, 16, was shot by Israeli forces at 9:30pm on 29 April 2018 when, along with three others, he tried to cross the separation fence in Gaza. Abu Jazar's body was taken by the Israeli military and the three other people were arrested. The body of Abu Jazar has been held by Israel to date, while the three other people have been released. The news of Abu Jazar’s death was communicated by the Israeli military to the Palestinian Civil Liaison, which then passed it on to the child's family.
